The disc took a while to register, but it burst into the chart in April, eventually reaching No. This led to a US tour, during which they played the Ed Sullivan Show and pushed global sales of the disc over a million copies. Raised in a coal mining community in Windrock, just outside of Knoxville, Tennessee, Duncan had grown up listening to local Bluegrass, Country and Gospel radio. His stint in the US Army took him to the UK, to Cambridgeshire, where he married a local lass, and he was perhaps the perfect example of someone finding himself in the right place at exactly the right time.
